The New Republic’s Baghdad Diarist Admits He Made It all Up
Projection: the left calls FNC "Faux News" saying it lies and makes up news; however, all the lies and distortions occur in the left-wing media.Scott BoChump recently wrote an article in TNR saying the war in Iraq turns our soldiers into monsters that run over dogs in the streets of Baghdad on purpose, wear children's skulls on their heads and even tease a female soldier so badly burned that she was unrecognizable.
Guess what? He made it all up.
The Weekly Standard has learned from a military source close to the investigation that Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp--author of the much-disputed "Shock Troops" article in the New Republic's July 23 issue as well as two previous "Baghdad Diarist" columns--signed a sworn statement admitting that all three articles he published in the New Republic were exaggerations and falsehoods--fabrications containing only "a smidgen of truth," in the words of our source. Is this really a surprise to anyone? Not to anyone that actually knows people in the military.
The left hates our military. I can no longer consider arguments to the contrary.
