Senator Schumer, a Jew, Views Iran as a Political Issue
How Democrats make decisions about national security and global threats:
Bombing Iran, says Chuck Schumer, would be a big political loser for Republican candidates in 2008.
“It would change the landscape against them, big time,” Mr. Schumer, the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, said about a scenario in which the Bush administration launches a military attack on Iran before leaving office. “I don’t think they are likely to do it, because they are so weak—not because they are chastened—but I also think it is very likely to be a negative political for them.”
Despite all the Bush administration’s saber rattling, the 56-year-old Brooklyn native believes the president’s political footing is too weak to build the case for another war, especially when the public is “far more skeptical of that the second time around.”
In an interview in his Third Avenue offices on Oct. 29, the top Democratic political tactician in Congress expressed unwavering optimism in his party’s chances to increase its majority in the Senate, even in the case of a traumatic event like war with Iran. He evinced similar confidence about the prospect of having the ostensibly polarizing Hillary Clinton at the top of the Democratic ticket, and about his Senate candidates having to campaign against the supposedly moderate Rudy Giuliani.
“The wind is at our backs as Democrats,” he said.
Is that wind? Or nuclear fallout?
What's most dangerous is if HRC wins because she will be looking for war for a LEGACY. Presidents who are favored in history are those who fight wars (even if they were extremely unpopular at the time). Instead of gaging when to use force on whether it is the best option for success, HRC might just want to use the military to fight humanitarian missions (like Darfur) and will be wholly unprepared when al Qaeda attacks there (because Democrats believe that all terrorists are in Afghanistan).
This incident was supposed to represent the Bush Police State. Instead, it showed how out of control lefties are and what a pussy Senator Kerry is for not intervening.
Now, the student has apologized, withdrawn from classes for the semester and was disciplined from the student judiciary board.
Edwards demanded that YouTube pull down this student report on his campaign. The report is actually quite professional and balanced giving voice to both sides. A college student is doing the work the Drive-by Media should be doing and he demands YouTube to block it from airing.
Again, YouTube is a private company and can remove whatever material it wishes, but I hope the company wisely decides to allow the video to stay.

UPDATE!!! Today after 3:30pm the media asked generals during a Pentagon briefing what affect the War in Iraq will have on being able to combat the fires!!!
Just so you know, the generals made them look like fools. There are 3000 National Guard troops from CA in Iraq out of 20,000. The military specifically did NOT bring those guard troops that were trained in firefighting so that the Governator would have 100% firefighting capabilities AND the military has agreements with Utah, Nevada and Oregon to supply aviation equipment and personnel to assist if needed.
PLUS, they are already prepositioned to go in when ASKED BY THE GOVERNATOR!
Just like Katrina - the largest and most successful rescue operation mounted in American History! It looks like the Republicans who live in San Diego and the rest of the Southland knew to get the hell out and not wait for the government to come and lift them off the tops of their burning houses.
The media and Democrats are going over the books of the last six years to see if there was any money not spent on wild fire protection (no matter which state) to blame Bush for this NATURAL disaster.
We know it's environmentalists who block people from clearing underbrush and dead trees from forests near their homes which creates a tinderbox waiting to explode.
Will the Democrats jump the shark with the American people and blame this on Bush?
Will they ask "Where's FEMA?"
Will they say the president is heartless and cruel because he didn't run into those burning buildings himself like Clinton would have done?
Will they say national guard troops in Iraq would have prevented this fire from spreading if it wasn't for BushCheneyHalliburtonCo's insatiable greed and blood lust by conducting an illegal war for oil?

See, for today all you would need to change is the last name of his Wikipedia entry to Mike Rogers or David Brock. This man sounds like a patriot to me and, as usual, leftwingers sought to ruin this man's life simply for serving his country.
