Some Good Political News from Iraq

The start of the Surge seems to be accomplishing its preliminary goals, but the point of the military action is to allow the Iraqis the room to operate politically.

Iraqis seem to be doing so. Oil sharing agreements and now compensation to the Kurds who were expelled by Saddam Hussein. If this doesn't support the work we are doing, I don't know what other evidence people can offer to say we should see this Surge through, for a time, to assess (honestly) its effectiveness.

Yo Yo, it’s MC Rove

Okay, this is absolutely hilarious. My mother told me about it, so I hunted it up on YouTube. At the Radio-Television Correspondents dinner the other night, comedians Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie dragged Karl Rove out of the audience and "interviewed" him. They then did an impromptu rap using his answers, with David Gregory and another guy (can anyone identify him?) as MC Rove's backup dancers.

Fans of Whose Line Is It Anyway? (both the British and American versions) will be familiar with this setup. Sherwood and Mochrie are veteran impromptu performers, and a regular feature of Whose Line was to bring an unsuspecting audience member onstage and sing a song about that person.

As my husband said, rap has officially jumped the shark.

Sunshine Patriots to the Modern Copperheads

Brilliant.

The actions of the Copperheads radically politicized Union soldiers, turning many Democrats into lifelong, stalwart Republicans. Many Union soldiers came to despise the Copperheads more than they disdained the Rebels. As the Democrats were reminded for many years after the war, the Copperheads had made a powerful enemy of the Union veterans.

Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the progress of the Iraq war. But most Americans do not want to see the United States defeated in Iraq. And there are encouraging signs that the US troop surge in Baghdad is working. Because of the perception that defeat – not victory – is the goal of today's Copperheads, the Democratic Party may well pay the same price as its predecessor did after the Civil War.
Democrat demagoguery then:

And now:

Remember Terri Schiavo

Two years ago tomorrow, Terri Schiavo was murdered by court order. She was alive and by court order, without any evidence other than hearsay by the husband, was made dead by forced dehydration.

I will never forget the day when a man called into Rush's show saying he wanted her to die. Or the woman who called into the Laura Ingraham show claiming that Terri Schiavo had a terminal disease since she was in hospice. The woman then said she didn't know why the Pope was hanging on either.

Death, death, death. The Party of Death. Abortion, euthanasia, infanticide...

Read this article written by Terri Schiavo's brother recounting the ordeal his family suffered.

Bleg on DiFi

Anyone got links to the information about Diane Feinstein's war profiteering?

I heard it on Rush only in passing between CVS for cigs and my house...

Destroy Them

The Iranian government must be destroyed. Hopefully, Bush will bomb on April 1, 2007, just to confuse the Democrats.

Australian Taliban:  What do you know?

I thought we were in a war. You would not know it from the media coverage that we've actually captured, interrogated and are prosecuting (through military tribunal) members of al Qaeda. Recently, we heard about the Australian Taliban pleading guilty. Do you know what he is accused of doing and to what he admitted doing?

Check out this summary provided by Gregory McNeal at AIDP Blog on David Hicks:

# Joined the Kosovo Liberation Army in May 1999, and fought on behalf of Albanian Muslims, engaging in hostile action before returning to Australia.
# Converted to Islam and in November 1999, traveled to Pakistan where he joined the terrorist group Laskhar-e Tayyiba (LET). A group whose known goals include violent attacks against property and nationals of India as well as opposition to Hindus, Jews, Americans and other Westerners.
# After Joining LET Hicks traveled to Kashmir and engaged in hostile action against Indian forces.
# In January 2001 Hicks with assistance from LET traveled to Afghanistan and attended al Qaeda training camps.
# Hicks attended al Qaeda training camps, including training in weapons familiarization and firing, land mines, tactics, topography, field movements, basic explosives, and other areas.
# Hicks trained in al Qaeda’s guerilla warfare and mountain training course.
# Hicks expressed to bin Laden his concern over the lack of English al Qaeda training material
# Muhammed Atef the military commander of al Qaeda after an interview recommended Hicks for attendance at al Qaeda’s urban tactics course, which Hicks attended.
# Hicks personally collected intelligence on the American Embassy.
# On September 12, 2001 knowing that the September 11, 2001 attacks had occurred and were perpetrated by al Qaeda, Hicks returned to Afghanistan and joined with al Qaeda.
# Upon reporting for duty in Khandar, Afghanistan, Hicks chose to join a group of al Qaeda fighters near the Khandahar Airport.
# Hicks was issued an AK-47, and on his own armed himself with ammunition, and grenades to use against US and Coalition forces.
# Hicks guarded an enemy tank position and trained others at his location.
# Hicks looked for another opportunity to fight, and eventually found his way to the frontlines in Konduz.
# On the front lines, Hicks along with John Walker Lindh and other al Qaeda and Taliban forces engaged in combat against coalition forces. Hicks spent two hours on the frontline before it collapsed and he was forced to flee.
# Hicks, while under direct fire, was chased by Northern Alliance fighters. He used his Australian passport to flee toward Pakistan, after selling his weapon he took a taxi toward Pakistan but was picked up by Northern Alliance forces.
Could anyone point me to a mainstream news organization that even remotely covered the charges against Hicks?

What a Fag (and I Was Right)

UPDATE: WND wrote a whole article full of better examples. I still want to point my criticism at this fag to keep it, you know, in the "family."

I just said yesterday that people who are surprised that a female blogger was pummeled with vulgarity and statements on how she should be murdered really haven't read left-wing blogs. This happens every day. In fact, I mentioned the Huffington Post by name.

Well, one HuffPuff blogger believes that Tony Snow's has cancer because he worked for FNC and the Bush administration.

Let me ask you this: what would our left-wing readers say if I blogged about how Elizabeth Edwards cancer is what she deserves marrying a slimy trial lawyer and political whore who promises to cure diseases if he is elected President?

I would never say such a thing or even think it. Yet, I am accused of being a rabid right-winger.

What is it about the left that they say such things? Who does this HuffPuff fag think he is?

Totally Unnecessary Description

Sometimes things just go without saying.

Today, we have an article about growing anger in Texas over the imprisonment of a teenager.

See if you can spot the superfluous part (I'll help with the bold button):

A teenager has been jailed for more than a year for shoving a teacher's aide at her high school, a case that has sparked anger and heightened racial tensions in rural East Texas.

Shaquandra Cotton, who is black, claims the teacher's aide pushed her first and would not let her enter school before the morning bell in 2005. A jury convicted the 15-year-old girl in March 2006 on a felony count of shoving a public servant, who was not seriously injured.
I mean, please.

Retreating in Afghanistan

Many wonder what is next on the Democrat plate as they've thrown everything to sour the American people against the war in Iraq but always claiming we should be in Afghanistan.

We know this is a lie and a fraud. The Democrats, in their hearts, believe the 9/11 was a crime--a rape, and US policy wore a slinky, red dress with fuck-me pumps. We witness the Democrat desire to quit Afghanistan at the rallies of their supporters: anti-war protesters. No war is just and no American principle worth defending.

So as the Democrats advance surrender in Iraq we should also be careful to note the theater that will begin soon enough on Capitol Hill to lose in Afghanistan. The campaign to lose Afghanistan now has a face and the Democrats are salivating at the testimony of his mother and their political grandstanding to provide the story.

For Iraq, for one summer in a ditch in Texas, we watched the Democrats and the media use a grieving mother and the memory of her son, Casey Sheehan, a hero, to silence defenders of the Iraq war.

For Afghanistan, for this summer, in every possible committee meeting and Sunday show possible, we will watch the Democrats and the media abuse the memory of another hero who fell to friendly fire in Afghanistan.

The Democrats now have a face to defend their policy of defeat in Afghanistan.
