Cool. Maybe he can get together with Mark Foley and they can get treated together. It turns out that, according to Foley, Alcoholism will turn you into a pervert who seeks homosexual sex with teenage boys. According to Foley's office, its all entirely treatable and Mr. Foley has already checked himself into a hospital for treatment which he was previously in denial about needing. Now that he is getting help, everything will be just fine. After that, he will be back on the firing line, fighting the good fight to protect family values and keep our children safe from predation.

If he gets on the accelerated treatment plan, maybe he will be cured in time to run in November and reclaim his office in January.

I note that Foley didn't seek help when he was first confronted with the problem. He simply made excuses and lied. He suddenly decided that he had an alcohol abuse problem when his sins became public knowledge. Where I work, seeking help for alchohol abuse is best done BEFORE you get in trouble over it....if you want to keep your job. Of course, when you have been running for election on a family values issue, and bragging on how you introduced legistlation for the protection of children from the evils of the internet, its kind of hard to stand up and admit that you are a drunk and that you talk to high school boys online about how much you would enjoy sodomizing them.

16 year old boys are indeed post pubescent and the age of consent in an enlightend BLUE state like Maryland but Mr. Foley represents one of our southern RED states where even the age of consent to have a pornographic IM chat online is 18. (17 in the lad's home state of Louisiana the same as your beloved red state of Texas) Foley's IM would be considered solicitng sex wtih a minor in the state of Florida and can result in some serious jail time. That is a whole different ball game from having sex with a 22 year old (ADULT) intern. Both are immoral. One is illegal. Florida authorities are already investigating whether any of the emails or IMs originated from Foley's Florida home or office....something that seems highly likely since we already know that some of the internet contact came during a Congressional break.

If the hypocrits in the GOP want to say they are so much better morally the the Democrats, bring it on.
