no one was ever made aware of any sexually explicit email or text messages at any time

I fail to see how there is even a suggestion of cover-up.

Charles wants me to start calling him Chris again!

This sounds perfectly reasonable and logical.

The suggestion of a coverup comes in because of the involvement of Representative Thomas Reynolds, the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. The question is being raised as to why Representative Alexander took the Problem to the House Republican's chief political operative first, rather than other responsible leaders. The implication is that this was an attempt to protect a house member in an election year.

Reynolds is already talking as if he is unwilling to take the fall alone so my prediction is that there will be more revelations before we know the truth about what happened here.

So - after all of the news that Hastert knew, Michael Reagan calling for his resignation (as mentioned on Michelle Malkin's site, via Human events online)...you still stand by your baselessly asserted title to this post?

Um, I've been fasting and praying for the last 24 hrs. (The Yom Kippur thing), I don't recall anything about that, Aaron! :-)

"ABC's Teddy Davis reports: In a radio interview with 700 WLW radio in Cincinnati, House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) placed responsibility for the Foley matter not being handled properly on House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL).

"I believe I talked to the Speaker and he told me it had been taken care of," said Boehner. "And, and, and my position is it's in his corner, it's his responsibility. The Clerk of the House who runs the page program, the Page Board—all report to the Speaker. And I believe it had been dealt with."

Please note that by saying that he talked with the Speaker about Foley, Boehner is reversing course and going back to his original position."

Sounds like you owe Chris (er, I mean Charles) and apology...
