I'm in Houston!

I am on travel here in Houston, TX, (Bush and DeLay Country)!

Since arriving, I've noticed some wonderful things about Texas. First thing I noticed was $2.25 regular unleaded.

And Bush is everywhere and loved here. You cannot imagine the night and day change from the bluest state of Maryland to the reddest state of Texas.

Anyway, there is no FNC in this hotel room (which I am going to complain about); I almost threw my TV out the window after about 30 minutes of Chrissy Matthews.

Also, I am glad Lincoln Chaffey one the primary. He is a Republican, he was our incumbent and he should have been supported by the party. He s a liberal, but we are a big tent party and I am glad we did not pull a Lamont on him.

I don't have to complain about hotel television lineups. I just place shift my home television to my laptop no matter where I am in the world.

I've heard of this. Do you need TIVO? Or will it work with my media center?

You don't need Tivo to use the Slingbox. It is a pretty nifty little gadget. You have to have a broadband connection and a home network. You plug the slingbox into your router and from there you have lots of options. You don't use Media Center because the slingbox does streaming media and has its own program. I've just split the cable at my house and ran one of the splits to the slingbox which has its own tuner. You can also hook it up so that it is taking a feed from a set top box, or a tivo etc and then use a remote to control them through the slingbox.

The software then uses a finder ID and you can hit your home slingbox from any place where you have an internet connection.

My wife got one for me this past Christmas and I've been real happy with it. I mainly use it with my laptop but they also have software that runs on my PDA.

that is NICE! I will certainly check it out--especially since it has it's own TV tuner.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard about it in many places, but never knew anyone who actually had it.

I would so love to have been able to watch local Maryland stations for the primary...right now, I never have a problem tuning into any radio stations because most of them offer live feed on the internet.
