GOOGLE JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!?
Subject: was this a mistake on Google’s part?
1- Go to www.Google.com
2- Type in Failure
3- Look at it the first listing and see what comes up first
4- Who is going to get in touch with Google and tell them it’s a despicable political statement that has no place on their search engine. Bad enough they censor their Chinese Google customers.

This represents GOOD news & BAD. The BAD is that it's been going on for at least a couple of years. To be honest, I'm not certain if Google can stop it, because I think it's due to how their search engine functions. The half-vast left-wing idiots probably keep it going.
If there is any GOOD it's that it's another illustration of how how biased some are. Hopefully by pointing this out, it will help fuel more Repubs to vote out the Dems in office.

Ah, Google-bombing, that most wonderful of cyber-propoganda. I wonder if Googling "Lying, partisan hack" still brings up Senator Turban Durbin?

Yeah, because there aren't plenty of others bombing J. Carter and M Moore from the other side of the aisle. It's a Democratic issue.
Actually, I find it kind of funny, but lacking in originality. Better to point failure at the war on drugs, or the deficit reduction bill from years ago, than a person.

It isn't funny because it isn't accurate. It's just another lame example of BDS which is poisoning political discourse all around the country.

dood! Someone should very quickly lose their job(s).
inappropriate, just inappropriate.

Uh, Gayle, accuracy isn't required for something to be funny. In fact, many things are funny BECAUSE they aren't accurate.
And no one loses their job. Except maybe people who think search engine results have importance beyond the potential for profit.

as an employee of the company by which I am employed, I am responsible for my public behavior, as anything I say or do could be considered as on behalf of said corporation.
If I misused company property - whether with humourous intent or not, to such an end, I would be swiftly held accountable.
As should whoever did such for google.
Personally - I find the current administration almost completely insupportable - however, that does not justify someone else's inappropriate behavior.

Do you really believe that Google has such lax security as to let something like this be done by ONE EMPLOYEE?
This is something done by outside forces who have conspired together to play a joke.

Blogs are the major reason that "feeling lucky" searches like the Failure and the Miserable Failure search results occur. Its a quirk in the way the Google search engines works.
Google's search results are generated by computer programs that rank web pages in large part by examining the number and relative popularity of the sites that link to them. Pranksters can occasionally produce odd results by takingadvantage of the way that Google works. In the case that Savko Babe cites, a number of Webmasters and Bloggers use the phrases [failure] and [miserable failure] to describe and link to President Bush's website, thus pushing it to the top of Google searches for those phrases.
Google looks more often at links on websites that are updated frequently. This is done so that web sites that news articles, editorials, and opinion pages are found and incorporated into Google searches while they are still relevant. Because of this, Weblogs have a rather heavy influence on Google search rankings.
The "Miserable Failure" Google Bomb is certainly the best known Google Bomb, but it hardly can be used in any kind of "holier than thou" attack by the the Godless Right Wing. For quite some time, there has been an ongoing battle for supremacy between the left wing and right wing search engine vandals for control of this phrase. On any given day, "Miserable Failure" might just as easily lead you to Jimmy Carter's website as George W. Bush's. (Jimmy's is in second place on the list today....Micheal Moore is in fifth) Of course, far be from the moral code of a right wing propogandist to give the kind of fair and balanced treatment that admits that their side of the aisle has their hands just as dirty.
By the way, you get the same results if you use Yahoo's search engine.......OR Alta Vista, OR Hotbot.
There are web based circumventor sites that allow knowledgable Chinese citizens to get around the Government imposed search engine cencorship. Once you get signed on it doesn't matter what restrictions there are placed by your ISP, your company server, or software on your computer. Our service men and women have been using circumventors to get access to websites blocked by the military and your kids have been using it them to get around those net nannies. Its really hard to compeletly censor anything in the electronic age.

Um, tempest in a teapot anyone?

This has been going on for years, it is NOTHING new. Welcome to 2003!

Yes, the conspiracy is deep, and has many participants. But more victims!
The idea that any but the Democrats is behind this conspiracy is laughable. As Gayle states, "[th]e half-vast left-wing idiots probably keep it going."
Ultimately their designs will backfire, since "[the conspiracy is] another illustration of how biased some are". Public revelation of this conspiracy "will help fuel more Repubs to vote out the Dems in office."
See what I mean by "laughable"?
yippee
