Are you surprised?

The race in CT is looking awfully familiar:

The United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz because 85 Town Clerks failed to send absentee ballots to the military and uniformed officers oversees in time for Aug. 8 primary.

In order to see that the voting rights of the men and women serving the United States are not violated, the lawsuit that is being called an "agreement" between the state and federal government, seeks to keep the final ballot count open until Aug. 25.

Bysiewicz said Thursday she sought the help of the feds after her office began to survey the towns and found that about 85 of the 169 municipalities failed to get the ballots out in time.

And then there's this:

Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman, who was locked in a battle with an anti-war challenger in the nation's most closely watched primary race Tuesday, accused his opponent's supporters of hacking his campaign Web site and e-mail system.

Lieberman campaign manager Sean Smith said the campaign has contacted the Connecticut attorney general's office and asked for a criminal investigation by state and federal authorities.

"If Ned Lamont has a backbone in his body, he will call on these people to cease and desist," Smith said.

Lamont, campaigning early Tuesday afternoon in Bridgeport, said he knew nothing about the accusations. "It's just another scurrilous charge," he said.

Looking like the campaign didn't buy enough bandwidith.

And if the soldiers didn't request ballots in plenty of time to send them in, how is that the government's fault?

Unless the military has changed a great deal since I was in, those service people are overwhelmingly Republican. While I strongly believe in absentee balots for military personel (I've used them myself) I fail to see how this issue is going to effect the DEMOCRATIC nominating process?
I understand that all of the regular posters on this site think of Lieberman as one of their own. He is, after all. But this was still a Democratic primary race. Save your energy for the three-way in November. Then you can hold your noses and either support ex-Dem Leiberman, whom you vilified in 2000, or that guy with the gambling problem.

Two stupid people making excuses for the criminal democrat party. It's expected.
