They Constitute Weapons of Mass Destruction

Still silent in about 75% of the media:

The 500 munitions discovered throughout Iraq since 2003 and discussed in a National Ground Intelligence Center report meet the criteria of weapons of mass destruction, the center's commander said here today.

"These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and yes ... they do constitute weapons of mass destruction," Army Col. John Chu told the House Armed Services Committee.

Sigh.

not the WMD’s for which this country went to war

Pentagon official further confirms munitions can "not be fired as designed." (Full report here.) Earlier update: Pentagon says Iraq's 'WMDS' are too old to use (Full AFP story here). Earlier update: Santorum was informed live on Fox News that a Defense Department official disavowed his conclusions. More at end of article.

What part are you confused about?

Are you suggesting that these shells were a threat to America?

You do know that they were buried in the desert rotting and abandoned right? That they were for all practical purposes “destroyed” as Saddam was required to do?

Are those shells (500 btw is nothing for a country like Iraq) worth the thousands of dead Iraqis, Americans and billions spent? Who knows what the final price tag for this adventure is going to be in blood and treasure but we do know it’s already too high.

Stick to duckspeaking about what a great democracy Iraq is, that hasn’t completely collapsed yet.

let's put them in your backyard! ;-)

as you know, terrorists aren't to keen on conventional weapons. These would have been wonderful in truckbombs.

The only thing that degraded was the mustard gas--the sarin was still as leathal, but couldn't be fired from the shell.

About 10-15 shells killed 3500 iraqis. What would 200 look like?

And you are the ones saying "there were no weapons of mass destruction." you didn't say "there were no weapons of mass destruction that could be fired out of artillery" or "there were no weapons of mass destruction made after the first gulf war."

I still say we put them in your back yard.

No, you’re not listening, I’ll try again.
We are not talking about backyards or potential. There are many things I would not want in my backyard and there are many things that can kill people. Please try to focus on the topic you started.
You are complaining the MSM is ignoring these “WMD” as if they matter. They do not, that is why they are ignored. Your own military has said that they are not the WMD that your country went to war over. This find is no more significant than Saddam’s buried air force.
They were shells left over from 1991, buried in the dessert, for all intense purposes destroyed. Those were not the WMD that America went to war over. They are nothing.
They couldn’t hurt anyone under the sand, they were not a threat. They are and were inert. Do you understand that?
I’ll ask my questions again as well:
Are you suggesting that these shells were a threat to America?
Are those shells (500 btw is nothing for a country like Iraq) worth the thousands of dead Iraqis, Americans and billions spent?
