LLP Correction on Rep. John Murtha
I would like to offer an apology to Rep. John Murtha for this post.
The Corner points out that the Sun-Sentinal said that Murtha was misquoted and that he was referring to a well known poll regarding world opinion.
The Sun-Sentinel, the South Florida newspaper that first reported Jack Murtha had said America was now a greater danger to the world than Iran or North Korea, has now acknowledged Murtha was misquoted — that he was citing the stats from a poll, not speaking his own views. Here's the correction: "An article on Page 3B of Sunday’s Local section misinterpreted a comment from U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., at a town hall meeting in North Miami. In his speech, Murtha said U.S. credibility was suffering because of continued U.S. military presence in Iraq and the perception that the United States is an occupying force. Murtha was citing a recent poll, by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, that indicates a greater percentage of people in 10 of 14 foreign countries consider the U.S. presence in Iraq a greater danger to world peace than any threats posed by Iran or North Korea."
As bloggers, we have to rely on newpaper accounts for our opinions since we have day jobs. And the media has been known to misquote people.
Again, I unconditionally apologize for this error.

Frankly, I've found that the best policy is to assume that ANYTHING that is written by the LLP is either an outright fabrication or the truth bent around in such a way as to mislead the reader as to the facts. If it in any way casts a liberal in a negative way, it is posted with absolute merriment without regard to even the simplist form of fact checking. The internet would have been a wonderful place to research information if people with agendas weren't constantly passing other people's misinterpretations and out right lies along to others when they haven't taken the steps to check more than one source to verify accuracy and mitigate bias. With all of the various blog feeds, one careless and unscrupulous ideologue sends his/her misinformation out to millions in the blink of an eye.
People who post and repost information to the web have may not have a legal obligation to tell the truth, but they certainly have a moral one. Those who don't have the time to check and verify facts, perhaps you would serve the internet community better by concentrating on their day jobs, and limiting their blogs to things that they have time to verify.
