Dems Pull Another Hackett Job in CA
Well, the Democrats will soon start discussing the fact that Francine Busby (D) won a whopping 43.5% of the vote in the CA-50 special election to replace the felonous, disgraceful Duke Cunningham (R) who is now serving a deserved 8-year prison sentence for taking bribes.
The only problem is that she ran against 15 Republican candidates. Now, if the Republicans consolidate their votes for the run-off, she could lose 56 to 44 (a substatial loss). But Democrats love to claim victory in defeat--just like they did when Paul Hackett lost in Ohio.
We will see, Clinton did win the presidency with only 43% of the popular vote in 1992 with three candidates and jumped to a whopping 46% in 1996 against Bob Dole.

How hard could it be to pick up 20% of the Republican votes in Cali? Some of the Rep. candidates had to be pretty liberal. Alot conservatives might not show up if the winning Rep. is too liberal, too.
Looks to me like she's in a good spot to win.

But she pulled a lower percentage that Kerry did in that district on 2004.
