San Fran Nan's Carnival of Corruption
Ah, yes, more of that culture of corruption from Nancy Pelosi:
The National Republican Campaign Committee points to a recent Washington Post article, which noted that Democratic congressional leaders are not happy with the way DNC Chairman Howard Dean is spending money.
According to that March 5 article, "At a private meeting last month, they let him (Dean) know. Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) challenged the former Vermont governor during a session in Pelosi's office, according to Democratic sources."
"Whoops," said the NRCC: Under House rules, congressional offices and House resources may not be used for conducting meetings on campaign business.
According to a booklet produced by the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, "House rooms, offices and buildings are considered official resources, and as such, they are not to be used for the conduct of any campaign or political activity, including the solicitation of contributions."
Again, Dems should be reminded of that whole glass houses thing before they talk about the "Republican" culture of corruption.

The brochure cited in the above article also has this to say, "The laws and rules referenced in this section reflect "the basic principle that government funds should not be spent to help incumbents gain reelection."
In no way were these rules written with the intent to prevent congressional party leaders from meeting with one another to talk about party matters. If so, then the Justice Sunday gang is guilty for everytime they used an office phone to talk to the religious leaders that they conspired with.
The WaPo article is clear that Pelosi talked with Dean about her disagreement with his plan to spend money to have party organizers in states where the Democratic Party is weak. No specific campaign was talked about, especially not Pelosis'. If this meeting was against the rules, then they need to kick all the members of both parties out for their party caucus meetings.
As usuual, this is just huffing and puffing to draw attention away from the blantent bribery of public officials. The Republican Majority WILL NOT bring ethics charges against Pelosi for this. Let them try. It will be one way to assure a democratic majority in both houses.

I guess it depends if it was her Hill office or a private office.
It is proven that Hill staffers used Congressional computers to edit Wikipedia entries of their Congressperson, in order to make them more favorable. This strikes me as an obvious violation of campaign finance laws. Why don't you guys make some noise?
