Huff Puff Logic

Arianna Huffington is furious because George W. Bush had the nerve to talk about conservation. Her point is this:

There is nothing more infuriating than hearing something you passionately believe in -- and indeed have been advocating for years -- cynically co-opted by someone who clearly doesn't mean it.

Now she knows how I feel anytime I watch a liberal talk about the military and national defense.

Well, Ariana should know. She co-opts whatever philosophy or point of view suits her own self-interest at the time!

There is nothing more infuriating than hearing someone suggest that: YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO YOUR VIEWS; I OWN those views; I have a political COPYRIGHT on those views.

This opinion is applicable to conservation (an issue of importance to just about everyone), applicable to abortion (the word speaks for itself but isn't just a woman's issue), and applicable to national defense (when we lose, we all lose).

Bush's idea of defense is to spend more and more on the pentagon and cut help for veterans. It's to invade Iraq and allow Afganistan to revert to a narco state (where it's not reverting to Talibanism). It's to ignore real spending on securing the homeland. It's to obfuscate about the state of the military and the reserves. To say the democrats have no ideas on those matters is to ignore the facts. Ignore the facts? Did I just say that?
