What Passes as FACT at MMFA

I've been accused of idiocy and dishonesty for agreeing with Rush Limbaugh at times. I ask our readers to look at the following statement; is there an "assumption" not based in fact but stated as matter-of-factually?

October 6 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh read a "note" that, he said, came from his "mistress in Georgia," an apparent reference to CNN anchor Daryn Kagan. According to Limbaugh, his "mistress" said of President Bush's October 6 speech on the war on terror, "This is great. This sounds like you wrote this speech. This sounds like you giving this speech." Limbaugh said he agreed: "And I was going, 'Rah, rah. That's exactly right.' "

This is factual because:

a) Obviously MMFA has a copy of the email sent to Rush

b) Obviously MMFA knows Rush only has one mistress

c) Obviously MMFA knows there is only one woman who lives in Georgia that listens to Rush

d) They are making a biased conjecture and painting it as fact.

What's your answer?

"...is there an assumption not based in fact but stated as matter-of-factually?"

I must admit - you've completely lost me here...I cannot at all understand the intent of your question.

Oh - wait, you mean the whole Daryn Kagan thing...

What part of "an apparent reference" do you not understand?

Posted by: tj at October 7, 2005 11:46 AM

Hahaha - so, you're contention is that MMFA is dishonest because it's stating as FACT that Daryn Kagan is the quoted 'Mistress in Georgia'?

Hahaha - you're killing me -

First, you ignore the phrase "an apparent reference" to support your argument.

Second, you obviously haven't checked out the website this morning, as at the very top is the following:

""Limbaugh read note from his "mistress in Georgia" (aka CNN's Daryn Kagan?)"

Tell me how that is MMFA stating that the "mistress in Georgia" is Daryn Kagan as fact.

Hahahaha...

Oh - stop...please, make it stop...

The link you provided "at the following statement" has "(aka CNN's Daryn Kagan?)" in the title!

OMFG! You're killing me here! Just slaying me!

LOLOL!

Nevermind the FACT that this does not erase the FACT that Rush Limbaugh is an habitual LIAR!!!

Tee-hee-hee...

You gotta admit you were wrong about MMFA on this specific item, Aaron - or I'm just gonna have too much fun with this...

Fish - meet Barrel.

Aaron? "What's your answer?"

Posted by: tj at October 7, 2005 02:25 PM

I was not wrong. He says he got a letter from his mistress in Georgia. He also read a letter from his Mistress in Missouri. There's no story here, but they report it to be Daryn Kagen. Sure they put a question mark at the end, but why even put it out there if you don't know.

It's called misinformation.

Hahaha!

Very funny dissemination on your part, Aaron. Remarkably funny, in fact.

Your contention was that they reported the "mistress" to be Daryn Kagan. As fact. Not as a possibility, but as fact.

They did no such thing, and the evidence about it is very clear.

You can play the whole "why even put it out there" game all day if you want, but that was not your original point.

It was your topic. You brought it up. I quite easily and handily disproved it.

While you're at it - there still has yet to be any evidence provided whatsoever for your post title "...libs want these people to have nukes..." - nor has there been a retraction...

have you considered a blog of your own? This series proves you do not need any other commentators for a sprited, lively discussion of what ever pops into your head.

You need more exposure. Everyone is entitled to yur opinion. Quit hiding your talents here. I truely belive you could be the next Roseanne Barr of the blogesphere.

"...the next Roseanna Barr of the blogesphere."

I'm assuming that's akin to back-handed praise? :)

Posted by: tj at October 7, 2005 04:13 PM

Mind you, jreid - the MMFA and 'libs & nukes' issues are Aaron's, not mine.

He raised this specific question about MMFA, facts, and my "answer".

He also raised the assertion that "libs want these people (at the time, I think Iran was the specific "these people") to have nukes" - to which I requested which libs specifically stated they wanted "these people" to have nukes. He's yet to provide any libs that have said as such.

Mind you - he himself followed up with a post about getting those facts together.

There are now 13 comments in this thread, 10 are yours. What part about bloviate and pontificate don't you understand?

Posted by: jreid at October 7, 2005 05:20 PM

The part I don't understand is why Aaron doesn't simply retract the title of this post, as it's wholly untrue.

Posted by: tj at October 7, 2005 07:22 PM

So, this thread is well on its way to being abandoned...

And while Aaron was the one who raised the Post 'What Passes as Fact at MMFA', he's done nothing but avoid the actual answer he requested.

Add to that the complete and total lack of evidence for "...libs want these people to have nukes...", and we have two declarations by Aaron that he either cannot or will not back-up or retract - without back-up, retraction would be the honorable thing to do...

And yet, other than one person ridiculing me for my (inarguably) ridiculous number or repeated comments here, no one else has weighed-in on the Posted topic...

It's rather easy to declare - MMFA either stated Daryn Kagan being the "mistress in Georgia" as fact, or they did not.

Clearly, they did not, as Aaron's own link proved.

Yet, the only 'answer' from Aaron on this is to disseminate, and then follow-up with 'Where's Hillary?' and 'Where's Cindy Sheehan?' posts - obvious and deliberate attempts at humor to defuse this topic...I'm wagering, quite possibly with no small amount of ego, that he was hoping I would bite in those threads.

So much for honesty...
