Brian Williams Proves Rush Is Right

I love it! Brian Williams just reported on Hardball that poor people did not heed the evacuation orders because they were expecting their welfare check on September 1. Liberalism kills.

I will link to a transcript once it's posted on msnbc.com.

1 - this is old news
2 - is it really so hard to believe that people who had no other means of income might have feared not having any money more than abandoning their home for a 'potential' disaster that couldn't even drag the President back to the white house?

Even Terri Schiavo warranted an immediate plane flight from Crawford - if the coming storm wasn't enough to get the President concerned enough to do his job 'from the saddle', in the white house, where he should have been, how urgent could it have been to cause people to abandon their only means of income at the time?

Yes, keep using people like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh and other consistent liars and extremists as your points of reference - and chuckle while you're doing it.

It only further marginalizes you.

What have I learned from tj? These people have no other means of income besides welfare because of Bush.
It is Bush's fault because they care more about a welfare check then they do about their own lives.

"...these people have no other means of income besides welfare because of bush..."

No, you didn't get that from me...that's a complete and total lie. What an imagination you have.

"it is bush's fault because they care more about a welfare check then they do about their own lives."

Nope, didn't say either of those - bush's fault or that they care more for a welfare check more than there own lives...

funny thing about it is...I don't think they should have stayed - were I single and on welfare, I'd have no reason to stay...welfare exists lotsa places, and it would be a good excuse for a potentially beneficial change...

Meanwhile, if I was married and had kids, as I do now, I'd have every reason to leave...I'd have to trust that someone somewhere would help me feed my family - keeping the kids safe would be more important than anything to me....

So, nope- I can't see any logical reason they stayed behind, other than fear, ignorance, and greed in that order.

However, are we to assume that ONLY welfare recipients stayed behind? That only those capable of getting out stayed behind? This blame the welfare system doesn't cover all of it...

So, I agree - the welfare is a terrible thing. It doesn't do nearly enough to teach people to get off of welfare - but then, I've seen the welfare system at work, as I've had close relationships with people on it. If you have kids, have no family to help, no spouse, and are on welfare, it's a near-impossible cycle to get out of - more or less because you can't be too gainfully employed to get things like serious child care assisatance, but if you don't get a job, you're booted off - it's really screwy the way it is...

There are people who make the system their livelihood - my answer? Find them. Take their children and teach them to be better than their parents. Jail the parents.

Meanwhile, my original statements remain true. You've done nothing to disprove them - only ignored them..

I don't know who you are and I really don't care, but you folks are rather sick if you ask me. Brian Williams is a hack reporter, I won't call him a journalist! As for your comments that Brian was right, I am amazed that there is such a large number of illiterate and un-read people within the conservative ranks.
From what I am reading, as long as you have someone to blame, you don't have to take resposibility for shit. Maybe you should go to Iraq and then you can blame the Iraqi's situation on the Iraqi's. Of course, Brian Williams was on that bandwagon also.
I will say again, if you are between the ages of 19-35 an support this admninistration and it's policies, the army needs men, if there is one among you "chickenhawks". BTW...Vietnam Vet, Honorable dicharge....Aaron what is your pedigree?
