Gayle and Grief

Gayle discusses Cindy Sheehan's spectacle in Crawford, TX. She shares some moving personal experiences, but in the end logic prevails:

The President of the United States, George W. Bush, does not OWE Cindy Sheehan a further meeting. He views it as his duty as commander-in-chief to meet with the families of all who die in Iraq and in Cindy Sheehan’s case, he has already done so. As an American citizen, I do not want to see this woman (and I understand that she is grieving) behaving like a braying jackass in Crawford, Texas for all the world to see – and for the benefit of the very people who actually killed her son and who are relishing the embarrassment she is causing to the President of the United States.

I do not want her feeding the already outsized egos and delusions of the Michael Moore characters with which she has surrounded herself. I don’t want to see her doing this. But she is an American citizen and it is her right to do it. The press is giving this grieving mother’s foolishness way more attention than it deserves, but again, that is their right.

We must respect the fact that this woman IS in horrendous pain. But we also can hold Cindy Sheehan to the same standards of behavior vis-à-vis the President of the United States that we would expect from any other person. That is, she must speak and behave with respect about and to the man that the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS have elected to lead us. We can and should expect her to quit wasting our time, and the President’s time, with her demands and tantrums although how we can communicate that to her is a question I can’t answer.

If she truly wants this war to end, then it might be more productive (for everyone) if she allowed the President of the United States to focus his attention on resolving the situation in Iraq instead of stroking her ego or feeding the agenda of her new “pals” (haven’t Michael Moore and George Soros done ENOUGH damage already) whose interest is not in her grief and pain but is instead on their “hate-America” agenda.

Check out the rest.

Well said, Gayle.

Cindy Sheehan knows that the President is not "focusing his attention on resolving the situation in Iraq" - that is perfectly obvious. He cannot admit making a mistake and that's the first step he would need to make to resolve that mess. No, George W. is on a 5-week vacation at his fake ranch, having luncheons with the bozos that donated big money to his campaign. If it was your son who had been killed because Bush and his cronies started a war based on lies, you be right out there with her.

Wow, Moonbat alert!

First, Bush is meeting with presidents and security advisors.

Explain to me, Chuck, why a weeping, greiving mother should dictate national policy?
