INTERBLOGATORY FRIDAY

John Hawkins wants to know, Is Cindy Sheehan Making A Profit Off Of Her Son's Death?: For example, does Cindy Sheehan take any money for speeches beyond her expenses? Does she get paid a salary by "Gold Star Families For Peace"? Does she stand to make more money if donations go up?

Democrat Disbelief: The liberal polling firm Democracy Corps has released the results of its latest research project..."Most [focus group participants] referred to Democrats as 'liberal' on issues of morality, but some even go so far as to label them 'immoral,' 'morally bankrupt,' or even 'anti-religious.'"

Donald Trump has joined the blogosphere with his "The Trump Blog." I like The Donald and admire his success. You may actually learn something from him. But be warned that you'll have to endure The Trump Blog's suck-up squad in all its ickiness, as in this post: The Donald on Corporate Corruption: Posted By: Donny T (8/11/2005 3:56:00 PM) Comment: This blog is so awesome I can't contain my fluids. Posted By: Bone Smith (8/11/2005 3:04:00 PM) Comment: Mr. Trump, We admire your moral verisimilitude. Keep up the good work...

Angelina Jolie is a Cambodian citizen, to which The Superficial responded: I didn't want to announce this until September, but I recently found $0.58 in between my couch cushions and I plan on donating it to Ethiopia. And before critics start speculating that I'm only doing this to attain that valuable Ethiopian citizenship, I want to assure everybody that my donation comes straight from the heart.

She should make a profit off of her son's service. Why not? If she can, more power to her.

I thought you guys were capitalists.

I'm not against capitalism! If Sheehan is profiting from her son's "death," it questions her motives, because then it's money (and politics) that's motivating her and not necessarily her grief. It's like discovering that the prosecution's top witness just sold her story to the tabloids. Or, for a more political reference, recall Gennifer Flowers and the reaction from the left when she sold her story to Star Magazine.

Personally, I still think that Cindy Sheehan is having a breakdown.

Why can't she be motivated by both?

Answer, she can and you know it.

Trying to mislead again?

Posted by: paul at August 12, 2005 06:58 PM

Did I say she couldn't be motivated by both? No, I did not. Did I say if it was one then it was definitely not the other? No, I did not. You are inferring something that I did not even imply.

I cut Sheehan some slack because she is grieving. She's also being used by the left for their political ends. The left didn't care about Casey Sheehan. He volunteered for the service, and as such, he epitomized something the left despise. His death and her grief are nothing more than useful vehicles for the left's obsession with trying to destroy Bush, and it ain't gonna happen.

Kitty,

I just read (and posted above) that she and her husband split up after their sons death because she became unhinged.

I didn't infer anything.

I just asked an unrelated question.

Posted by: paul at August 13, 2005 01:53 AM

yeah. right.
