ISN'T THIS CONSIDERED A THREAT?

The DeLay suicide shirt was disgusting, but I would think that this shirt constitutes a felony:"For Gods sake ... KILL BUSH ... save the United States and the rest of the world." Don't be surprised if this shirt gets yanked as quickly as the DeLay shirt was yesterday. The site is already difficult to access. If you get this message "CafePress.com Product Not Found", type in "KILL BUSH" in the search engine and you should get about 4 pages of merchandise. The shirt is (I believe) on page 3. UPDATE!: Click on the link for the Bush shirt and you'll now find pro-Bush merchandise!

Another so-called conservative who wants to increase the power of the government, in this instance to make a felony a political statement that she finds offensive. This on the flimsy grounds that someone might take the suggestion seriously.

So much for reducing the power of the federal government.

Threatening the US president is already a federal offense. I recall a case in the 80s involving a library book. A man had checked out a book from Huntington Public Library (Oneonta, NY) and when he had returned it, he had left a letter he had written in the book. It was a letter threatening the life of Reagan. The librarian leafed through the returned books, as she usually did, and found the letter and contacted the Feds immediately. Even though the man never sent the letter, he was wisked away. I remember this because I used to live there, and my mother was friends with the librarian. These things are taken very seriously, regardless of who is president.

Freedom of speech NEVER covers a direct threat to anyone. That t-Shirt was out of line.

So many nice Christians wrote me after I made the DeLay Suicide shirt asking me to 1) make a shirt that says "Dear Chris Goodwin, Please Commit Suicide, Sincerely, Everyone; and 2) Please find Jesus.

Well, I heeded the first request. The Goodwin Suicide shirt is now available at www.cafepress.com/goodwinart

Yours ever,
CRGoodwin
