Breaking: Pope On Feeding Tube
VATICAN CITY — Pope John Paul II is getting nutrition from a tube in his nose, the Vatican said Wednesday, shortly after the frail pontiff appeared at his window in St. Peter's Square and managed only a rasp when he tried to speak.
_________
A Vatican spokesman went on to assert emphatically that Michael Schiavo is not the Pope's legal guardian despite wide-spread rumors in the media.

Upon hearing the Pope is now being fed through a tube Michael Schiavo immediately filed for an injunction in the court of Judge Greer to have the tube removed to allow the Pope to die a natural death. George Felos already had the forms signed by Dr. Ronald Cranford in anticipation of this act of mercy.
"It's what he would have wanted..." -- Michael Schiavo recalling memories from 8 years ago when he watched the Pope on TV
"I've already put down his cats... well... not his cats... but some cats in the neighborhood... because it's what he... would have wanted"
"In all the years I've seen the Pope, I've never seen such a look of peace and beauty upon him." -- George Felos, Michael Schiavo's lawyer and "right to die" advocate after the tube was pulled from the Pope
"He has to be bogus, a pro-life fanatic. You'll not find any credible neurologist or neurosurgeon to get involved at this point and say he's not vegetative." -- Ronald Cranford, Michael Schiavo's doctor and "right to die" advocate lashes out at the Pope for his "diagnosis" of himself as not actually vegetative
Judge Greer ruled on the injunction and lectured the Catholic protesters:
"Go ahead... try and overturn me! Bwahahahaha... if I can starve to death disabled little girls I can certainly send that old Pole to his doom!" -- Judge Greer dropping the gavel
The Pope's complaints were dismissed by NewsMedia experts as "pitiful attempts" to perpetuate a very sad situation.
"The Judge has ruled" seemed to be the consensus...
ABC/NBC/CBS did a national poll asking:
"Do you think heroic measures should be taken for a Pollack in a vegetative state who is moments away from death just because he complains?"
And the results demonstrated a strong feeling throughout the United States that the Pope should be allowed to die.

Dan, go post this at your site. It's friggin' hilarious. And in my old neighborhood, a 'feeding tube' was 16 ounce can of malt liquor with a straw.
