Finally, A Good Role Model For Girls

Forget Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears. Forget Paris Hilton. Forget Lindsey Lohan.

There is finally a good celebrity role model for girls.

She sings. She acts. She has the hottest kids' show on the Disney Channel. She is even cleaner than Hilary Duff.

Unlike Britney, Jamie Lynn, Paris and Lindsey, this real role model has something that steers her away from the troubles associated with stardom.

That something is her Christian faith.

During an interview with FOXNews reporter Hollie McKay, the starlet said, "I think it’s my faith that keeps me grounded, especially because I’m a Christ follower for sure. Live like Christ and he’ll live in you, and that’s what I want to do."
[Quote Source]

During an interview with Today's Christian magazine, the starlet said, "Faith is a big part of my life. I recently read a book titled Girl Talk With God about a teen girl's conversations with God, and I feel that I'm here in Hollywood because of faith and God's will." [Quote Source]

On March 29, 2008 during the 2008 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, after receiving one of the awards, the starlet gave a brief thank-you speech which she began by declaring her Christian faith to her millions of fans. In doing so, she let millions of pre-teens know that it was okay to be a Christian.

When she was born, this good role model for girls was named "Destiny Hope". To her millions of fans, she is known as . . .

Do You Want To Know Why John McCain Won The GOP Primaries?

This might have had something to do with it.

Argue with McCain over Campaign Finanace Reform and Illegal Immigration all you want, but he's rock-solid on national security.

Early & Vocal Support for the Surge = GOP primary votes.

That’ll Leave A Mark

Col. David Hunt, who was there in Tulza trying to take care of Hilalry's security, points out just how insulting her lie about the snipers is to the troops.

Put a fork in her, she's done.

The Web Belongs to Conservatives

Check out this list from Nielson of the top 30 online news sites. With the exception of the Daily Kos - conservative or conservative leaning organizations dominate, beating out even main stream (left wing) franchises known primarily for their offline publications.
Brand or channel; sessions per person; unique audience (000)
1. drudgereport.com; 19.9; 3,445
2. Daily Kos^; 8.9; 1,204
3. Fox News Digital Network; 8.3; 10,177 [does this include the Wall Street Journal?]
4. CNN Digital Network; 7.9; 37,181
5. AOL News; 7.7; 21,119
6. Yahoo! News; 7.4; 35,274
7. MSNBC Digital Network; 6.4; 34,013
8. ksl.com^; 6.0; 796
9. Breitbart.com; 5.3; 2,674
10. Google News; 5.3; 12,050
11. Gannett Newspapers and Newspaper Division; 5.1; 13,998
12. NYTimes.com; 4.9; 18,975
13. Netscape; 4.8; 2,709
14. Townhall.com; 4.7; 1,152
15. Media General Newspapers; 4.6; 1,761
16. GTGI Network 4.5; 1,345
17. Star Tribune; 4.3; 2,108
18. TWC News Websites; 4.1; 840
19. NewsMax.com; 4.0; 4,054
20. Zwire^; 3.9; 1,089
21. Cox Newspapers; 3.9; 5,197
22. washingtonpost.com; 3.8; 10,441
23. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; 3.8; 1,259
24. The Buffalo News^; 3.7; 502
25. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; 3.6; 1,472
26. MediaNews Group Newspapers; 3.5; 5,850
27. USATODAY.com; 3.5; 10,571
28. WorldNow 3.5; 10,588
29. IB Websites; 3.4; 7,565
30. St. Louis Post Dispatch^; 3.4; 1,022
Now you have to be blitzed to see that Newsmax and TownHall.com beat out USA Today and the Washington Post (which is actually affiliated with MSNBC.com - so I don't know why they counted it separately, but they did). I asked if FNC included the WSJ, but now that I noticed the Post was not included with MSNBC.com, I simply think the WSJ has less hits because the whole online newpaper except the columns are for pay only.

But just look at this list again. I highlighted breitbart.com, even though it runs straight AP and Reuters stories, the founder, Andrew Breitbart, is a Drudge collaborator and a known conservative (libertarian)..

Happy Easter!

On Paul's Great Sadness for Israel and the Jews

Romans 9

God's Sovereign Choice

I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, 4the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."In other words, it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. 9For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

Not only that, but Rebekah's children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God's purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, "The older will serve the younger." Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."

What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses,

"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."

It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth." Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

As he says in Hosea:

"I will call them 'my people' who are not my people;
and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one," and,
"It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them,
'You are not my people,'
they will be called 'sons of the living God.' "

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

"Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.
For the Lord will carry out
his sentence on earth with speed and finality."

It is just as Isaiah said previously:

"Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah."

Israel's Unbelief

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." As it is written:

"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

I Am Absolutely Certain…

...that the media coverage of the mishandling of Senator Obama's passport information will be handled in exactly the same way the media handled the Clintons illegally misappropriating hundreds of FBI files.

HA!

USSC Swats 9th Circuit Again

I sometimes understand the 9th Circuit, even if I disagree. Here I don't. The Washington State ballot initiative was really about empowering voters.

What the heck, if you're sick of hearing about Obama's preacher, read the ruling here.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a Special Mother:  Patti Patton-Bader, Founder of Soldiers’ Angels

Help nominate a phenomenal woman (other than your own mother!) as "Most Inspirational Mother of the Year." To remind you of the wonderful organization she founded, you can visit the charity's site here and learn about other events and ways you can help our wounded soldiers.

Soldiers' Angels was started by a self-described ordinary mother of an ordinary young man turned hero, Sgt. Brandon Varn. Brandon was deployed in Iraq and has since honorably completed his mission and has returned back to his proud and loving family.

In the summer of 2003, he wrote home expressing his concern that some soldiers did not receive any mail or support from home. Being a caring and loving mother, she decided not to allow a situation like that to continue. She contacted a few friends and extended family to ask if they would write to a soldier or two. Within a few short months, Soldiers' Angels went from a mother writing a few extra letters to an Internet Community with thousands of angels worldwide.

With more and more merchants donating services, money and items for packages, the Angels reorganized as a 501 c 3 non-profit so all donations would be tax deductible. Soldiers' Angels currently supports tens of thousands of American Service Members stationed wherever we raise our nation's flag, and that number continues to grow daily. Soldiers' Angels are dedicated in supporting our military during and after their deployment.

In December of 2004 a worldwide support forum was created in the hopes of providing a place where the needs of our heroes could be fulfilled.

Now this ordinary mother's youngest son, Bretton Varn, is serving his country in Iraq as he continues his family's legacy of bravery, honor and commitment. As with all of our brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces, our thoughts and prayers are with Brett and his family as he begins his tour in service to his nation.
Ms. Patton-Bader and her hero son is an inspiration to us all. I did a music video to one of the events in which I participated where wounded soldiers biked from Gettysburg to Washington, DC. I met Lisa Dixon there and she is the one who's spearheading this effort to get this much deserved award bestowed on this wonderful mother.

What Should Happen to this Soldier

I do not want to share the video on the "store front" of this blog, but I want those who can to take a look at the video posted in the forums under "What should happen to this soldier?" It's almost unbelievable (and I hope it is a fake).

“Mary Ann R., Port Charlotte, Fla.” Is, Quite Possibly, the Biggest Fool

Mary Ann R. will be voting for a Democrat, as she always has, because she is really asking questions like she were a complete and utter idiot.

And DNCTV (MSNBC.com) actually prominently features her question on their website...
The economists say we are in a recession? I don't think so. Would you say that we are more in a "'30s-type depression"? I have never seen the country in such bad shape. Rising gas and food prices. How do we live?
I mean, seriously. Are Democrats THAT dumb? I just always thought they were sinister. Obviously this woman owns a computer and pays for internet access to send in her silly questions to PMSNBC.com. I am sure she had a nice Starbucks on the way into work where she drives her car that she owns or leases. Oh, and she has cable if she gets MSLSD every night to know to go to the website to vomit her splendiferously ignorant questions and negative judgments on the state of America. She wants to know how she is going to live and wants someone to come and take my money to give to her.

Oh, wait, my bad. I forgot about all those soup lines I see on the way to work.

Mary Ann R., I beg you to first see a doctor...then an economist and then read what this theater critic so eloquently wrote in the latest issue of the Village Voice. I mean we just had 5% GDP growth only two quarters ago and we had anemic, but positive growth last quarter and you need TWO CONSECUTIVE quarters of negative growth to even qualify as a recession, sweetie.

Oh, its the end of the world!!! The markets and economy is doing exactly what it does every 6 years!

“Client 9” T-shirts Avaiable at Cafe Press!

I kick myself each time some brilliant idea is thought of before I can think of it. Even worse still is that I didn't even think to investigate it like my friend John Geoffrion:
CafePress has over 62 unique , client 9 designs on more than 1,340 T-Shirts and Gifts. Narrow your search with topics like funny client 9, or spitzer, eliot spitzer, new york, elliot spitzer, new york governor, prostitute, client9, hooker, governor, prostitution, and more!

Barely 24 hours later, and already there's a wide variety of Client Nine t-shirts. Only in America wink
Let's check out a few highlights, shall we?

Here we have the classic oxford athletic T with the XXL tag; however, I believe a man like Spitzer needs a shirt that reads XXS.

Here we have a new addition to the Barbara Boxer Thong Collection with a fanciful play on the retro I {HEART} NY theme from the Reagan Era.

But, alas, I could not find one yet that read SUPERDELEGATE #9 - which is how the Clintons know him and need him. Hopefully, Rush might add it to his line of apparel.

The First Shot Is Fired

Governor Spitzer, ask Mike Nifong what happens to your law license when you 'screw' around.

A Florida lawyer filed a grievance with the New York legal Disciplinary Committee where Eliot Spitzer was licensed to practice law.

Citing alleged "violations of the Mann Act" after reports surfaced that Gov. Spitzer is 'Client 9' whose actions and conversations were recorded by federal agents investigating an international prostitution ring, attorney John 'Jack' Thomspon asks that, "[g]iven the seriousness of this matter, Spitzer should be immediately and temporarily suspended from the practice of law."

Here's the Mann Act, should you want to read about this "victimless" crime.
