Shhhhh. Don't tell Aaron, but I wanted to sign on and post a picture I took with his camera-phone last night while he slept. It's me with one of the treats I got for Christmas from my Nana (Aaron's mom). I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! --Dutch
My fav'rite line is the part about him being black, but not TOO black. Personally, I think Eminem is more black than Obama. He was born in Kenya, raised by white parents somewhere in the south Pacific and Hawaii...he may be brown, but he ain't black.
They try to say Condi ain't black simply because she was a Republican - but she grew up in the Deep South where she lived in fear of the White Knight Riders in Alabama.
You know all those end of the earth documentaries on the Science Channel or Discovery Channel? Well, it looks like we'll be able to knock off the cataclysm that seems to rank right up there with "global warming."
British scientists are on the verge of producing a revolutionary flu vaccine that works against all major types of the disease.
Described as the 'holy grail' of flu vaccines, it would protect against all strains of influenza A - the virus behind both bird flu and the nastiest outbreaks of winter flu.
Just a couple of injections could give long-lasting immunity - unlike the current vaccine which has to be given every year.
The brainchild of scientists at Cambridge biotech firm Acambis, working with Belgian researchers, the vaccine will be tested on humans for the first time in the next few months.
But the Oprah said Bird Flu was going to kill us all!!!!!!!
I am actually looking forward to some of the coverage because I don't know much about him. I wasn't even alive when he was president. The only two things I know is that he pardoned Nixon and mistakenly said there was no Soviet threat in Eastern Europe. I am sure there is plenty more to know.
Well, I am spending my Christmas sick as a dog. I called my father last night to come and pick up Dutch and me. In one hour, I went from feeling totally fine, to fevered and delirious. My head started throbbing, my joints went shooting with pain and shook with cold (even though I had a fever). Now, after 24 hours of Nyquil and a fresh round of anti-biotics, the only places that hurt are my ankle (swollen and red) and my groin (lymphnodes). I will go in and see if this could be diabetes, but I had blood work done only six months ago and I was fine!
Anyway, back to Christmas. We have so much to be thankful for this year. This is the time of year we set aside to observe the birth of Jesus of Nazereth. God became man to provide a sufficient sacrifice for our sins, so that whoever believes will be saved.
It's quite simple and really easy when you think about it. All the work's been done; our debt's been paid in full.
To everyone, Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year!
A Win for the Democrats Is a Victory for the Terrorists
Remember when the left went all batty when Republicans stated the obvious?
Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.
In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.
"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost," Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.
Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.
"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.
The question the Democrats need to answer is what gave the terrorists the idea that America negotiates with its enemies?
Could it be all the Dems running to Syria to meet with Assad?
Where are the Republicans? They need to SHAME the Democrats. That's how they won in 2004 and 2002 - shame them for being the losers they are.
I am currently reading Don't Tread on Me (which is EXCELLENT for people who are not history buffs, but want a military narrative of the last 400 years of American warfighting). I am only up to the battle of New Orleans in 1814, but I already know that we have gone to war over a lot less than this:
Though intelligence officials have suspected a link between the Tehran government and the Saudi wing of Hezbollah, which the FBI has accused of carrying out the bombing, Friday's ruling is the first time a branch of the U.S. government has officially blamed Iran for the deaths of Americans in the bombings. "This court takes note of plaintiffs' courage and steadfastness in pursuing this litigation and their efforts to take action to deter more tragic suffering of innocent Americans at the hands of terrorists," Lamberth wrote. "Their efforts are to be commended."
Most anyone would consider something like this an act of war (most sensible people, anyway). I wonder what the left thinks? Were the bombings simply Iran lashing out because of our oppressive trade policies?
Gay designer STEFANO GABBANA is against the idea of same sex couples becoming parents, because he believes children need both a mother and a father. Gabbana insists taking a child away from its mother is "cruel" and that he will never adopt, although a female friend recently agreed to become the surrogate mother of his child through artificial insemination. He says, "I am opposed to the idea of a child growing up with two gay parents. A child needs a mother and a father. "I could not imagine my childhood without my mother. I also believe that it is cruel to take a baby away from its mother."
Now, many immediately conclude that he is a hypocrite because he is having a baby with a surrogate.
My guess is that he means that it is cruel for two gay people to make a child and severe ties (both physically and legally) with the mother.
Personally, I don't have any problem with gay adoption. To me, it is no worse for the child than living with a single parent. However, I do have a problem with gays going out and MAKING babies. There is a big difference between gays wanting to adopt abandoned children or going out and having them created. Unfortunately, that's what Gabbana is doing.
There is still another reason for the rise of Islamists: They sense a new hesitation in the West. We appear to them paralyzed over oil prices and supplies and fears of terrorism. And so they have also waged a brilliant propaganda war, adopting the role of victims of Western colonialism, imperialism and racism. In turn, much of the world seems to tolerate their ruthlessness in stifling freedom, oppressing women and killing nonbelievers. So how, aside from killing jihadist terrorists, can we defend ourselves against the insidious spread of radical Islam? Here are a few starting suggestions:
Not only did he break the law by removing the documents, he lied to authorities about what he did with them and hid the documents (national security documents) under a trailer where any terrorist or spy could just waltz in a get.
Former national security adviser Sandy Berger removed classified documents from the National Archives in 2003 and hid them under a construction trailer, the Archives inspector general reported Wednesday.
The report was issued more than a year after Berger pleaded guilty and received a criminal sentence for removal of the documents.
Inspector General Paul Brachfeld reported that when Berger was confronted by Archives officials about the missing documents, he said it was possible he threw them in his office trash.
For those of you who rely on the MSM for information, here is the subject matter of the documents in question.
"Mr. Berger said he placed the documents under a trailer in an accessible construction area outside Archives 1 (the main Archives building)."
Berger acknowledged that he later retrieved the documents from the construction area and returned with them to his office.
Berger, with the authorization of former President Clinton, was reviewing National Security Council documents on Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida, Sudan, and related presidential correspondence. The review was to facilitate Berger's impending testimony before the House and Senate intelligence committees.
WITH AUTHORIZATION (READ: ORDERS) FROM PRESIDENT CLINTON...hmmm.
This is scandal! This is not about some tawdry instant messages - this is actually WORSE THAN WATERGATE. Will it be treated as such by the media? Will anyone ask Hillary Clinton about this?
