Very Touching
I just received this picture and message from my Protest Warriors group:
Todd Heisler The Rocky Mountain News
The night before the burial of her husband's body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of 'Cat,' and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. "I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it," she said. "I think that's what he would have wanted."

By far the best thing you've ever posted on this site.

Here is the story behind that picture. If the picture didn't make you shed a tear, the story will.
Michael McCulloughStingray: a blog for salty Christians

Thanks for the link Michael. One would have to be cold and heartless not to have wet eyes after reading the complete story. This story is about the real America, the America that will that will never be featured by the major media outlets.

It's true. The real America gets all choked up over dead soldiers, but thinks all it needs to do beyond that is stick a three dollar magnetic ribbon on its car. Of course it's touching. Of course we weep for the wife. But how about paying for the war? How about paying for the wounded that come home alive? How about a war surtax?
And how about this: I served in Vietnam, a war with which I disagreed. How come the young bucs on this site are tapping away at typewriters instead of going over there and joining those for whom they weep?

I tried to sign up for the marine reserves, but they will not allow anyone in who is on anti-depressants.
I do donate about 3% of my annual salary to the Fisher House that provides housing for family members near military hospitals while their loved ones go through rehabilitation.
Both of my grandfathers were in Vietnam, my father was in the Gulf War and Somalia, my cousin served two tours in Iraq.
My family has provided quite a bit towards the safety of this country and to the military and their families.
Why is this always a pissing contest with leftists.

Pissing contest? That's like calling all criticism of Bush "Bush hatred." It's a fair question.
